Who doesn’t love dog kisses?  But sometimes they are not so fresh! Obviously, it’s super important to take care of our dogs’ teeth. Oral hygiene is connected to digestive and heart health. Plus no one wants their dog to have stinky breath!

I thought I would make something fun and delicious for our dogs that is beneficial both for them and for us. Good breath and digestive health for them;  happy and healthy dogs for us!  Parsley is not only a breath freshener, but also a great digestive aid and source of vitamins and fiber.  Mint is a natural breath freshener and digestive discomfort tamer.  The probiotics in yogurt are great for overall digestive health.

I make these Doggie Breath Mints with just a few ingredients, a blender, and an ice cube tray. I used a fun dog bone one, but a regular ice cube tray or mini muffin pan will work just fine. They are so healthy and simple to make that you’ll be making them for your dogs all the time.

Makes about 30 mints.

Trim off the bottom rough edges of the parsley and mint stems.Combine the coconut oil and water in a measuring cup/bowl. Microwave or heat in a saucepan until warm enough to melt the coconut oil. Add to a blender or food processor. Add the yogurt and peppermint oil. Blend/process until the herbs are completely chopped. Pour into the ice cube trays or silicon molds. Freeze until firm.  Store in the freezer and give to your dog daily for a frozen, breath-freshening treat.
