If you have ever been to an Indian restaurant, you’ve probably had a mango lassi. It is a sweet, refreshing mango yogurt drink with a hint of cardamom. The good news is that it is super easy to make at home! Feel free to substitute non-dairy versions of yogurt and milk to make it fit your dietary needs.
- 1 cup mango cubes, from a large ripe sweet mango
- 1 cup yogurt, plain whole milk yogurt (can substitute with soy or almond yogurt)
- 1/2 cup milk (cold) or cold water, to thin out the lassi
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or adjust to your taste
- 2-3 drops of cardamom essential oil (only if your oils are marked safe for ingestion) or substitute 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
Blend all ingredients until smooth (this just takes a few seconds). Add more milk or water if needed to get to your preferred consistency. You can drink it right away, but it tastes best if you chill it for an hour or more.
