Yoga has been around for thousands of years and is getting more popular every year. For good reason, as it is combines stretching, strength moves, and meditation for a full body workout.
If you bring your own yoga mat to class (and especially if you don’t!), you need to clean it regularly to keep it smelling fresh and clean. Don’t use the chemical-laden cleaners that are made for this purpose. Make your own easily using all-natural essential oils instead.
I actually carry this in my purse at all times. I’ve sprayed it on cuts, scrapes, bug bites, Burns and used it to clean my car!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup distilled water
1/4 cup alcohol-free witch hazel
5 drops of Lavender essential oil
3 drops of Melaleuca/Tea Tree essential oil
Glass spray bottle
Method:
Combine all ingredients in glass spray bottle.
Shake until combined.
To use, spray on mat and wipe dry with towel.
Note: Not all yoga mats are made of the same material so using essential oils may ruin some yoga mats. Spray a test patch on a small part of your mat first to make sure it doesn’t adversely affect it.
